On February 5th over 200 leaders from academia, business, and government attended the I BELONG ISRAEL Annual Conference at Mishkenot Sha’ananim, Jerusalem. The Conference focused on a variety of issues surrounding I BELONG ISRAEL’s role in shaping Israeli youth through value based education. Among the speakers were: MK Avi Wortzman, Deputy Minister of Education, Yossi Bachar, Chairman of Discount Bank and I BELONG ISRAEL Board Member, celebrated Israeli author and historian Muki Tzur, and former Director of the Ministry of Education Dalit Stauber.
The conference also celebrated I BELONG ISRAEL’s 10th Anniversary. On this meaningful occasion we presented an Award of Honor to Board of Directors member Ephraim Greenfield. Ephraim’s longtime friendship and unwavering support have been indispensible to our organization. We also presented an Award of Recognition to the Genesis Philanthropy Group represented by Anna Perelman, GPG Regional Director in Israel. Because of GPG’s strong strategic partnership with I BELONG ISRAEL , thousands of Israeli 11th graders and hundreds of Jewish young adults from the Former Soviet Union have had the opportunity to participate in an I BELONG ISRAEL – Jewish Heritage Journey, thereby strengthening their Jewish identity and their connection to the State of Israel.
